The Timmins Coin Club, and the Timmins Stamp Club, are proud to jointly host their fifth annual show. The show will take place on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. upstairs in the auditorium at the McIntyre Community Centre, 85 McIntyre Rd., Schumacher. This will be a wonderful opportunity for Timmins and area residents to experience and learn about stamp and coin collecting.

Members of both clubs will be displaying stamps and coins with themes geared towards children. The show will also include coin and stamp dealers for those wishing to purchase items to add to their collections. A supply dealer will have coin and stamp supplies to host your collections. A silent auction will run throughout the show.

“The Timmins Coin Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. We are pleased our annual show continues to attract collectors and dealers from North-eastern Ontario. Last year the club produced a special Timmins Canada 150th Anniversary golden medallion; some are still available.” says Kevin Montgomery, president, Timmins Coin Club. “It is a significant opportunity to gather collectors and the public together to showcase coin collecting within the region” added Montgomery.

“Organized stamp collecting in the Timmins-Porcupine area dates to 1937. Stamp collecting is a relaxing and educational hobby for all ages. It allows you to explore your favourite topic and travel to different countries. The Timmins Stamp Club is pleased to co-host this event. Last year, in celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation the club produced 150 picture postage stamps and postcards as a special show collectable. Luckily some of these are still available and would add a unique piece to your stamp collection,” adds Marcel St Jean, president of the Timmins Stamp Club.

We’re looking to build on our success of previous years and anticipate a good turnout. For more information about the 2017 Timmins Stamp and Coin Show, please contact Kevin at [email protected] or Marcel at [email protected].
