The Timmins Police Service responded to a call for service regarding a collision at a Golden Avenue intersection in South Porcupine early yesterday morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 5:45 a.m. where a driver is alleged to have failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign and collided with a vehicle that had the right of way.

The collision involved a 2012 Dodge Journey mini-van and a 2010 Dodge pickup truck. Neither driver sustained injury in the collision.

The mini-van air bags deployed rendering the vehicle un-drivable and requiring that it be removed by a tow truck.

Based on the investigation by the Timmins Police, a 44-year-old female driver from South Porcupine has been charged with disobey stop sign – fail to stop contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The Timmins Police Service - Traffic Section reminds all motorists to be attentive to the task of driving. A moment’s inattention behind the wheel often results in collisions that are entirely preventable.
