Timmins Police investigate numerous collisions

The Timmins Police Service investigated a total of six collisions within the city yesterday.

None of the collisions reported to police resulted in injury.

One of the collisions resulted in the laying of charges.

Among them, a single vehicle motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred at the intersection of Hwy 101 and Father Costello Drive in Schumacher.

The driver of the vehicle ended up in the north ditch of Hwy 101 as he was forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision with another vehicle.

The vehicle was removed by tow truck and was deemed roadworthy.

The vehicle sustained minor damage only. The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section is urging drivers to be patient and to use proper judgement while driving.

Winter driving demands that drivers raise their attention to the next level.

It is strongly recommended that drivers give themselves extra time to reach their destination.

This practice should eliminate the need to drive in a hurried fashion as frantic driving behaviours often lead to collisions.
