Each year, the Timmins Police Service partners with the local chapter of the Harley Owners Group for a motorcycle rally toy drive during the summer months.

The group tours the city collecting toys, and also makes their way to the South Porcupine Food Bank where donations of non-perishable food items were made.

December 4, 2015 saw the toys collected distributed to three local women’s shelters.

The toys will then be distributed to children who are staying at the shelters over the holiday season or are in need of some Christmas spirit.

“We want to make sure that the children of those who may be housed in the shelters over the holiday season are well looked after and have some gifts from Santa,” explained TPS Deputy Chief Des Walsh. “We’re very proud of our ongoing partnership with the Harley Owners Group.”

The toys were donated to HER Place, Villa Renouvellement, and Tranquility House, three local area women’s shelters.

The Timmins Police Service thanks the HOG Northeast Chapter, as well as all residents who donated toys or monetary gifts to this worthy cause.
