While the Cochrane OPP detachment is closed after a truck drove into it yesterday, officers are still on the road.

Yesterday evening, a U-Haul truck drove into the building.

According to a video posted to the OPP North East Twitter account, the driver of the truck was arrested and one person inside the building was injured and brought to hospital.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, the Cochrane detachment is closed.

"There is no change in our police operations for the community of Cochrane and surrounding areas. Officers are still working and taking calls for service," reads an OPP news release.

The alternative location for criminal record checks is the Iroquois Falls OPP detachment, located at 52 Critchley Ave., Monteith.

People are encouraged to call 705-232-4087 ahead of time. The business hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"All other public inquiries and walk-ins will be asked to call the Provincial Communication Centre (PCC) to request meeting with an officer," said OPP.

For non-emergency calls, you can call 1-888-310-1122 or dial 911 in an emergency.
