The main entrance to Timmins City Hall will be temporarily closed next week.

The closure starts Monday, Dec. 16 and is expected to last about three days. To access city hall, people can use the parking lot entrance on Cedar Street.

It will allow for the painting of a new mural by artist Mique Michelle, who has painted pieces at the Timmins Airport and on the side of the Porcupine Advance building this year.

The murals are part of funding Kristin Murray, who is a health promoter at Misiway Milopemahtesewin Community Health Centre, secured to have Indigenous elders sharing their teachings with the youth, who then depict the teachings in murals.

According to a City of Timmins notice, the mural at city hall will stretch from street level up to the second floor.
