Charges laid following domestic-related incidents

Two women are facing charges following separate domestic incidents in Timmins recently.

On July 17, Timmins Police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the north end of the City. Reports indicated that following an argument, the accused allegedly assaulted the victim with a blunt object.

Information received by police also indicated that during the altercation, the accused damaged several items before fleeing the residence. The individual was located by police on July 25 and charged accordingly.

As a result of the incident, a 28-year-old Timmins woman faces charges of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, July 26, 2017.

On July 25 at approximately 12 p.m., police received a report of a domestic dispute in progress at a residence in the city’s east end. Information received by police indicated that the female suspect allegedly gained entry to the residence and proceeded to cause damage in several areas of the residence.

Further investigation also revealed that an assault had been committed against the victim using a blunt object.

A 39-year-old Timmins woman now faces charges including break and enter, assault with a weapon, and mischief under $5,000.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, July 26, 2017.

To avoid identifying the victims in these domestic-related incidents, the names of the accused persons cannot be published.
