A celebration is underway in Timmins for National Indigenous Peoples Day.
Everyone is invited to stop by the event at Participark on Riverside Drive. There will be traditional drumming, dancing and teachings, games, vendors and artisans set up until 5 p.m. From 5 - 7 p.m. there is live entertainment.
Cupcakes are also being served at 3 p.m., and at 4 p.m. there will be samples of traditional food.
The event is organized by the Timmins Indigenous Organizations Committee with the goal of creating awareness and respect of Indigenous cultures in the community.
