Catholic school board elects new chair, vice-chair

A new trustee was also appointed

The Northeastern Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) has elected a new chair and vice-chair.

The board of trustee changes were necessary after the former chair, 68-year-old Richard Brassard of Englehart, was charged by OPP with access any child pornography.

At the NCDSB's annual organizational meeting Dec. 2, Glenn Sheculski was elected board chair for 2020. Fred Salvador was acclaimed as vice-chair of the board.

According to the NCDSB, Stan Skalecki has also been appointed to fill the vacant seat on the board of trustees.

"Mr. Skalecki will serve out the remainder of this term (until 2022) as Catholic school trustee and represents the Kirkland Lake and Englehart regions of the Board. Mr. Skalecki took the oath of office in a short commissioning ceremony before the annual meeting of the board," reads an NCDSB news release.
