Busy Weekend for Timmins Police

Over the weekend, Timmins Police officers responded to over 200 calls for service. The calls included about a dozen minor motor vehicle collisions, eight assault -related incidents, and several Liquor License Act related incidents. Just before 10 p.

Over the weekend, Timmins Police officers responded to over 200 calls for service. The calls included about a dozen minor motor vehicle collisions, eight assault-related incidents, and several Liquor License Act related incidents.

Just before 10 p.m. on Friday evening, police received reports of an intoxicated man in the downtown area. Officers located the man, a 44 year-old Timmins resident, and he was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor License Act.

Later that evening, police spoke to two other Timmins residents in the downtown area who were very intoxicated. The man and woman, aged 54 and 41, were both arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor License Act.

During the early evening hours of Sunday, January 12, police performed a traffic stop on a snowmobile. As a result of the stop, the 16 year-old driver was charged with failing to produce an insurance card under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act.

At approximately 10 p.m. Sunday evening, police received reports of a woman who had broken a neighbor’s window. Following an investigation into the incident, a 44 year-old Timmins resident was charged with Mischief Under $5000. She was released on a Promise to Appear in court.

Finally, Timmins Police officers conducted a RIDE program on Sunday evening. During the RIDE program, 225 vehicles were checked and one roadside breathalyzer test was administered. No impaired driving charges were laid as a result of the RIDE program.
