Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:
- Little Abitibi - Kesagami Lake
- Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls
Wind chill values close to minus 40 expected tonight and Thursday morning.
Under clear skies and moderate winds temperatures are forecast to reach near minus -30C tonight and Thursday morning with wind chill values close to -40C.
Temperatures are expected to rise by midday Thursday bringing an end to the extreme cold.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
