The winning entries in the Santa Claus Parade were in the spotlight at this week's council meeting.
Held in November, there were 13 award winners from the event organized by the Downtown Timmins BIA and Timmins Chamber of Commerce.
At council's first regular meeting of the term, Mayor George Pirie handed out certificates to the winners.
The recipients are:
- Best in Theme: Northern College
- Best Walking Group: Northern Diamonds Academy of Dance
- Best Small Entry: Viau Plumbing
- Best Large Entry: Ontario Power Generation
- Best Marching Group: Cadets Canada
- Most Spirited: Ecole secondaire catholique Theriault
- Brightest: Charlie Angus & Gilles Bisson
- Best Animated: Neo Laser Tag
- Most Comical: Boston Pizza
- Most Original: Kataquapit Family
- Most Artistic: Melissa Kelly Dance Academy & BMT Insurance & Financial Services
- Best Animal Entry: Clovercroft Farm
- Judges Choice: 360 Services Inc
