Beer Fest is back this April

Get ready to raise a glass at the third annual Beer Fest. 

The Timmins Festivals and Events Committee (TFEC) event is back Saturday, April 4 at the McIntyre Curling Club from 1 - 8 p.m.

So far, 11 breweries are on board.

The new ones on board are Highland Brew Co. (South River), Underground Brewing (Kirkland Lake), and Crosscut Distillery (Sudbury). Returning favourites include Full Beard Brewing (Timmins), Compass Brewing (Timmins), Gateway City Brewery (North Bay), New Ontario Brewing Co. (North Bay), Northern Superior Brewing Co. (Sault Ste. Marie), Whiskeyjack Beer Company (Haileybury), Sleeping Giant Brewing Company (Thunder Bay), and Lake of the Woods Brewing Company (Kenora). 

According to the TFEC announcement, this year's event will feature a distillery for people looking for an alternative to beer. There will also be food from local vendors available. 

Beer Fest tickets go on sale March 2 at TimminsFestivals.com. Tickets are $35, plus fees and taxes, in advance and $50 at the door.

Beer Fest is a fundraiser for Rock on the River, which is organized by TFEC. This year's two-day music festival is at Participark July 24 and 25.
