Two Michigan residents have been fined a total of $2,100 for bear hunting violations.

Michael Brink of Vicksburg pleaded guilty and was fined $400 for attaching his bear seal to a bear shot by another person and $700 for unlawfully possessing the bear.

Paul Van Zoeren of Paw Paw pleaded guilty and was fined $1,000 for hunting bear without a licence.

Court heard that on August 20, 2012, Van Zoeren shot a black bear in Bowman Township, south of Matheson.

Van Zoeren did not have a black bear hunting licence.

Brink then attached his black bear seal to the animal and exported it to Michigan.
