Author Stephanie McLellan to visit

A Canadian children’s author will be touring a number of schools within District School Board Ontario North East April 12 through 16.

Stephanie McLellan is a passionate promoter of literacy and the author of the award-winning books The Chicken Cat and Leon’s Song.

She is also the daughter-in-law of Doug McLellan – the former sports editor at the Timmins Daily Press, and namesake of Doug McLellan Park.

Both Bertha Shaw and Pinecrest Public Schools have been participating in The Wind Story Project alongside 13 classes across Canada who are also taking part.

Media are invited to attend a special presentation for both parents and children at Bertha Shaw Public School (109 Powell Avenue, South Porcupine) on Tuesday, April 12 at 6 p.m.

If unable to make it for the evening presentation, our media partners would be most welcome to sit-in on the classroom presentation on Tuesday, April 12 at 9 a.m. at Bertha Shaw.
