Assault charges laid against Kirkland Lake men in domestic dispute investigation

On April 18, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.  

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following:  

  • Assault with a weapon (two counts), contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Assault (two counts), contrary to section 266 of the CC,
  • Uttering threats - cause bodily harm (two counts), contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC, and
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

On April 20, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.  

As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following:  

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.

On April 21, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.  

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following:  

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Theft under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC, and
  • Fail to comply with recognizance (three counts), contrary to section 145(3) of the CC.

The three accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.   

The OPP will not be releasing the names in order to protect the identity of the victims.
