Apartment building tenant accused of utility theft, mischief

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local tenant of a Viscount Street apartment building with theft related offences stemming from ongoing incidents commencing in early September.

Timmins Police Service officers attended the scene of the incident on Friday, Oct. 4 and gathered the necessary investigative details that provided for grounds to complete an arrest of the suspect identified in the complaint. Based on the ongoing series of alleged offences, the suspects was arrested and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 4.

As a result of the first incident, Trevor Dowe, 35, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Theft of utilities contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of mischief contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
