An annual toy drive is coming up at The Bargain Shop.

For the fourth annual campaign, the Timmins Police Service has once again paired up with the store as well as Victim Services to collect gifts for children in need.

Last year, more than $3,500 in donations was collected and helped brighten the holidays for more than 40 families in the community.

If you want to help out with the 2019 drive, you can donate a new toy or gift card.

Donations are already being collected at the store located at 414 Algonquin Blvd. E. Unwrapped toys can also be dropped off at the Victim Services office within the Timmins Police building. Police are also encouraging businesses to get involved by buying gift cards from the Bargain Shop, local grocery store or restaurants.

Timmins Police will be at the Bargain Shop Saturday, Dec. 7 for a Christmas celebration.

There will be hot chocolate and treats available, entertainment and prizes.

After the celebration, the gifts will be sorted to hand out to families in need.

People who are looking to to pick up a gift for their child can stop by the Victim Services office at 185 Spruce St. S. from Monday, Dec. 9 to Friday, Dec. 20 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
