The Timmins Police Service would like to invite all avid motorcyclists to join this year’s TPS/Hog Toy Drive. The service and HOG Northeast Chapter are calling on all local motorcycle enthusiasts to join the campaign in a police-escorted ride through the city, along with a special guest in a red outfit. All local riders are afforded the opportunity to contribute gifts for underprivileged children that will be distributed during the Christmas holidays.
The annual event will take place on Saturday, September 7th 2013. Registration and marshalling opens at 11AM at the Timmins Police Service building located at 185 Spruce Street South. This year’s registration fee will consist of one new, unwrapped toy or a suggested donation of $20.00. The public is also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the South Porcupine food bank.
The rally, which is open to all makes and models of properly licensed and insured motorcycles, will commence at 1PM from Timmins Police Headquarters. The Timmins Police Pipes and Drums will perform and escort the riders for the first portion of the rally.
The motoring public should be aware that the rally will result in the closure of Spruce Street South between First and Second Avenues between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 07th. All are welcome.
