Annual craft and gift show this weekend in Schumacher

Event Schumacher Lions Club's second largest fundraiser

Cross off a few items on your Christmas list and help out a good cause this weekend at the McIntyre Arena.

The Schumacher Lions Club's 17th Annual Christmas Craft and Gift runs until Sunday and features more than 50 vendors selling pottery, handmade jewelry, knit items, homemade goods, as well as other unique gifts.

The event has grown to be the second largest fundraiser for the club, and can bring in 3,000 to 4,000 people over the weekend.

"It took a lot of hard work," said chairman Mark West. "When we first started we were lucky if we made $1,000."

Proceeds from the event are given back to the community throughout the year.

The show runs Nov. 10 until 9 p.m.; Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is $5, and free for children 10 years and under.

If you want to grab a photograph with Santa, he will be there from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
