All the world's a stage

“All the world’s a stage. And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances” (William Shakespeare).

The theme this year was “Life is a dance: Learn as you go”. On Sunday, June 1st, 2014, the Melissa Kelly Dance Academy proudly showcased itself at the E.S.C.Theriault Auditorium. As hundreds of honoured spectators and family members settled in for a sold out show, more than 200 performers scrambled with their props and costumes behind the curtains. Today was their grand performance; this was their great finale for another year. Stylistically, with added flair, remarkable discipline, and timing for good measure, a total of 52 acts were ushered onto the stage. Young and mature, in turn, executed their dances. The event covered tap, ballet, hip hop, Jazz, modern, acro, musical, and merengue numbers.

As a spectator, my heart swelled with pride and my soul thanked me for releasing the dust that had settled over it as a result of a tedious winter. Kudos goes out to every single dancer! Great job! Reach for the stars, teachers and choreographer! And, to Ms. Kelly, may God bless you, 2 weeks from now on your wedding day.
