Update – June 27th, 2014 – The City of Timmins has received official notice that the project is slated to begin on Wednesday, July 2nd. We expect traffic to be reduced to one lane in each direction by the middle of the week. Speed limits will be reduced to 40km/hr in the construction zone. The project has a completion date of September 30th. Any complaints or concerns can be directed to Heather Duhn, Goldcorp Community Liaison Coordinator, tel:  705-235-6571    [email protected]

June 20th, 2014 – Please be advised of upcoming construction work being completed on Algonquin Blvd. East, as Goldcorp Porcupine Gold Mines undertakes an independent project to remediate historic mine workings.

Goldcorp has retained the responsibility of maintaining and remediating existing infrastructure, which will require the relocation of an existing water main and the installation of a retaining wall between Acklands and Linde Propane Services. The project will require traffic to be temporarily reduced to one lane in each direction, to ensure public safety. Access to businesses and pedestrian traffic will be re-routed and maintained for the south portion of the highway.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this work, please contact PGM Community Liaison Coordinator Heather Duhn at 705-235-6571 or [email protected].
