It'll be a little longer before traffic re-opens on a stretch of Airport Road in Timmins.
A section of Airport Road has been closed since June 28 to allow for the Kraft Creek bridge to be replaced. While it was originally thought the road would be open by Sept. 2, that date was pushed back last month.
"Weather dependent tasks required for completion have delayed the opening of the Kraft Creek bridge to Oct. 1," reads a new notice from the city.
If the project is finished earlier, the city says it will let residents know.
The closure affects Airport Road between Lafleur Drive and Laforest Road.
To get to the airport, drivers can use Laforest Road, which can be accessed by Highway 655 or MacLean Drive.
In February, Miller Paving was awarded the $4.5-million project.
The city was approved for funding for the work in 2016 through the Small Communities Fund, which has equal contributions (33.3 per cent each) from the municipal, provincial and federal governments. The money received through the grant must be spent by Dec. 31, 2020.
