Air Creebec is cancelling one of its daily flights out of Timmins.

In an news release, the company announced it is suspending its flights between Timmins and Rouyn-Noranda to Montreal for the summer season because of low passenger loads.

The change is effective May 24.

"We had participated in the regional air transport summit and all the exchanges resulting from the UMQ's (Union of Quebec Municipalities) regional air transport initiatives, united with the statements of the CCIRN and the city of Rouyn-Noranda, seduced us. We thought that the creation of a new two-way daily round-trips between Timmins, Rouyn-Noranda and Montreal, at a fair price, would have been able to meet passenger demands, " said Matthew A. Happyjack, president and chief executive officer, in a news release.

Chief operating officer Tanya Pash said the company will analyze the change and make an informed decision in the fall.
