COLLEGE BOREAL
Hearst - Collège Boréal President, Mr. Pierre Riopel, and the Vice‐President of Entreprises Boréal, Ms. Danielle Talbot‐Lariviere, were both in attendance today to participate in the launch of an innovative, practical and exciting project at Fushimi Lake Provincial Park.
Announced on April 28, 2014, the partnership between Collège Boréal and Ontario Parks saw the construction of a first cabin at the Hearst campus by students of the School of Trades and Applied Technology Carpentry Pre‐Apprenticeship program.
The construction of such a structure of enviable quality to be located on the shores of Fushimi Lake Provincial Park is generating much interest amongst the students and community.
An innovative initiative, this project is one of many ways Collège Boréal works for the sustainability of its programs and Francophone communities.

Quick facts
Through a 3‐year agreement, students studying in a variety of carpentry programs at Collège Boréal will build rustic cabins using building plans and materials provided by Ontario Parks.
This is a project of community and regional significance; indeed, the rustic cabins built by the College’s students will be available for campers in the Northeastern region parks.
A unique training opportunity, this partnership offers students a remarkable opportunity to gain technical experience as well as competitive knowledge and practical skills to work in the industry.
