The Timmins Family Violence Interagency Action Committee recognizes that everyone has a role to play when it comes time to ending violence against women and children. The committee’s focus is to enhance the capacity of member organizations in Timmins to better respond to the needs of women and children experiencing violence.
Every November, the TFVIAC hosts an "Abuse Shatters Lives" conference which is geared toward professionals who support women and children. This year marks the 7th annual conference which will be held on November 19th and 20th. All service providers and law representatives working with violence against women related issues are invited to attend. It starts at 12 noon at the Dante Club.
This year’s conference promises to be an eye opener, with topics including violence, victimization and trauma as well as compassion fatigue. The committee will also be launching their new website at this event.
