4 COVID-19 cases, 3 recoveries reported Wednesday

Four new COVID-19 cases and three recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today (July 21).

Three of the new cases are in the James Bay area and one is in Timmins.

To date, there have been 2,131 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,064 are recovered and 30 people have died. There are 37 known active cases — 9 in Timmins and 28 in the James Bay area.

So far, 48,991 people have been vaccinated. There have been 88,668 doses of the vaccines administered. Both of these are the same as yesterday's numbers.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
