38-year-old Iroquois Falls man faces child sexual assault and luring charges

Police believe there may be more victims in the surrounding areas, ask victims to contact OPP

IROQUOIS FALLS - On Dec. 17, 2017, the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP North East Region Crime Unit began an investigation relating to the luring of a minor for a sexual purpose in Iroquois Falls, Ont. 

As a result of the investigation, Robert Jolin, 38 years old of Iroquois Falls, Ont. has been charged with the following offences:

  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Sexual interference, contrary to section 151 of the CC and,
  • Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, contrary to section 172.1(1)(b) of the CC.

He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins, Ont. on Feb. 20, 2018.
