KIRKLAND LAKE – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kirkland Lake Detachment have charged two men and a youth with drug offences.
The charges stem from the investigation of illegal drug related activities in the Kirkland Lake area.
It culminated with the execution of Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Brookbank Avenue in Kirkland Lake.
Seized as a result of the investigation were methamphetamine and money.
The incident occurred on February 23, 2015.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $3,000.
CHARGED ARE:
Jody SMITH age 20 of Kirkland Lake, Ontario
- One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
Stephane LAFONTAINE age 40 of Kirkland Lake, Ontario
- One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance
The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on April 9, 2015.
A youth was also charged and is scheduled to appear at the Youth Justice Act Court in Kirkland Lake April 2, 2015.
The youth cannot be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
