MOONBEAM - Families in the Moonbeam area will benefit from improved water access to Remi Lake as a result of a $22,500 investment from the Government of Canada.
The funding will support the purchase and installation of a floating dock providing Moonbeam residents and visitors with safe and convenient access to the waterfront in the René Brunelle Provincial Park. Replacing the 30-year-old docking system will improve boat traffic and help boost participation in community events.
The funding was announced today by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedNor.
This investment is being allocated under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, a $300-million fund that was established to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday through investments in community spaces that bring Canadians together. Of that amount, $10.4 million is being invested across Northern Ontario.

- Including today’s announcement, FedNor has approved $1.4 million towards 24 projects in the Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing region under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
