13-year-old charged with assault with a weapon in Schumacher

It is alleged that the young person assaulted an occupant of the home while holding an edged weapon

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local female young person with a Criminal Code offence stemming from an assaultive altercation which occurred during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a complaint regarding an altercation where a young person, who was a house guest at a Schumacher area residence, is alleged to have assaulted an occupant of the home while holding an edged weapon.

The matter was reported to the police later the same day. The suspect was identified, located and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service.

Based on the outcome of the investigation, a 13-year-old female young person from Timmins has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against her.
