Local McDonald's manager Jake MacDonald was recently named one of the few 2022 Outstanding Manager of the Year Award in Canada.

A local manager's passion for the job is being recognized nationally.

Jake MacDonald has won the 2022 Outstanding Manager of the Year Award for his work at the main McDonald's location on Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins.

Some of the reasons McDonald's Canada says he was selected are for the superior results he's achieved, for working diligently to offer exemplary client experience and serve quality food, insisting on offering every client a warm welcome, and his involvement in his favourite day of the year — McHappy Day.

“It is an honour to be receiving this award that recognizes my effort to make McDonald’s an incredible place to work and eat,” said MacDonald in a news release.

“I am thankful for McDonald’s providing me with a challenging and rewarding career. Having the opportunity to help my crew grow is a privilege and I look forward to continuing with McDonald’s for years to come.

"Together with my crew, we’re focused on providing our local and visiting guests with a great dining experience every day – from hello to goodbye.”

He started working at McDonald's 10 years ago as a kitchen crew member and has worked at restaurants across the country.

“Jake continues to go above and beyond to make sure the restaurant operates at a high level of service, cleanliness and food quality,” said Mark Cwierdzinski, Timmins McDonald’s franchisee. “Jake’s attention to crew satisfaction, which directly translates into excellent guest experiences, is second to none. This award is a well-deserved achievement.”
