It's Small Business Week! Here's what's happening in Timmins

A full week of events is slated for Small Business Week. 

Events for the week kick off today.

"Each year, The Chamber is proud to partner with community builders and other business support organizations to deliver meaningful sessions that seek to help our business community grow and thrive," said Rob Knox, Chamber president, in a news release.

"This year, with the end of the pandemic in sight, we want to ensure that our supporters have free and equitable access to these sessions to learn, network and build momentum within their organizations.

Monday, Oct. 18 

  • 4-5 p.m. - Le succès vous appartient ! Attirer, retenir et investir dans vos employés, hosted by Collège Boréal. 

Tuesday, Oct. 19 

  • 11 a.m. - noon - Virtual job fair, hosted by The Chamber. Hear from local employers in various fields.
  • Noon - 1 p.m. - Understanding Today’s Commercial Insurance Market with Celine Butler, hosted by The Business Enterprise Centre.
  • 1-2 p.m. - A customer relationship management (CRM) system: what it is and why every business needs it, hosted by Northern Ontario Export Program.
  • 5-7 p.m. - Adapt and Change: Tips for evolving your small business in survivability, hosted by NEOnet.

Wednesday, Oct. 20 

  • 9:30-11 a.m. - Funders Forum, hosted by The Chamber in partnership with Lake Shore Gold.
  • 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Economic outlook: What's next for your business? Hosted by BDC.
  • Noon-1 p.m. - Claiming Google with Julie Tremblay, hosted in partnership with The Business Enterprise Centre, The Kapuskasing & District Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Kapuskasing.
  • Noon - 1 p.m. Discovering Innovation Pillars Masterclass, hosted by Link North/Nord.

Thursday, Oct. 21

  • Noon - 1 p.m. - Innovative Business Thinking Masterclass- hosted by Link North/Nord.
  • 11 a.m. - noon - RNIP information for employers and businesses- hosted by The Business Enterprise Centre and Timmins Economic Development Corporation.
  • Noon - 1:30 p.m. - Vaccine Passport Enforcement Who you gonna call? Hosted by The Chamber.

Friday, Oct. 22

  • 10 a.m. - noon - Cybersecurity even if your business is offline, hosted by NEOnet.
  • Noon - 1 p.m. -- Grow with Google: Showcase Your Business and Products to Shoppers Online, hosted by The Chamber
