Workplace Safety North (WSN) is seeking new members to serve on its board of directors.

The North Bay-headquartered non-profit organization provides health and safety services including training, consulting and rescue services for the mining, forestry, pulp and paper, printing and converting sectors.

Its board is currently looking to fill four volunteer positions for a combination of two- and three-year terms.

Board members lend their expertise to help shape Ontario's prevention system, foster effective stakeholder relationships, and serve as health and safety advocates for Ontario workplaces.

Ideal candidates are those that represent WSN’s primary sectors (mining, forestry, pulp and paper, printing and converting) in both worker and management roles.

WSN is also seeking candidates with experience in the areas of financial/accounting, legal, human resources, information technology, serving on not-for-profit boards, and occupational health and safety.

The board typically meets four times a year, while sub-committees meet three times a year.

Details about eligibility criteria and the application process are available here.

The deadline to apply is Friday, June 25, 2021.
