TimminsToday received the following letter from the Northeastern Catholic District School Board welcoming students back to the new school year:

Dear Friends in Catholic Education,

On behalf of the Northeastern Catholic District School Board of Trustees, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all of our students to the new school year.

The opportunity for us to gather together again is an important step forward to ensure that Catholic education is alive in our classrooms and that our faith is being strengthened in all of our students. We are grateful for the chance live out our mission of learning together, striving for excellence, and being in service to God and each other.

It is our prayer that our schools remain open and that our students and staff will practice the protective measures and protocols in place. Our shared action in this regard is necessary to protect the health and safety of all. As well, we encourage all eligible students and staff to receive their vaccination, as another layer of safety in our fight against COVID-19.

As we all journey together throughout this school year, please know that the NCDSB Trustees will keep all members of the NCDSB family in our thoughts and prayers. We extend our best wishes to all for a very successful school year!

Warmest regards,
Fred Salvador, Jr.
Chair-Board of Trustees
