United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO) has established a Community Response Fund to provide emergency grants to local charitable organizations working to meet the basic needs of individuals disproportionately impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID19).

“The Community Response Fund will help to ensure that emergency funding is available to charities across the North East Region who are providing essential support and services to help our most vulnerable people stay healthy,” says Patrick Brouzes, UWCNEO Board President. “Many individuals are facing hardships during this unprecedented time, and people living in poverty have been disproportionately affected. Many could not buy food and essential supplies because they did not have the resources and supports to do so.”

Mary Lou Hussak, Executive Director with UWCNEO, adds, “If you are able, please give generously. If you are an organization in need of emergency funding, please reach out to United Way. We are in this together. We are strong, resilient communities, and together, we will make it through this uncertain time.”

Donations to the Community Response Fund can be made at uwcneo.com or mailed to 957 Cambrian Heights Drive, Unit 201, Sudbury ON P3C 5S5. Additional information about the Fund is available at www.uwcneo.com.
