Potential COVID-19 exposure on local flight, bus and train: health unit

It's for a Sept. 16 flight, and Sept. 18 bus and train trip

People on a recent flight, bus and train may have been exposed to COVID-19, according to the Porcupine Health Unit. 

Through the investigation into a positive case, the health unit says there is potential risk of exposure to travel on:

• Sept. 16 - Air Canada flight 8287 Toronto to Timmins, especially those seated in rows six to 12

• Sept. 18 - The 7:15 a.m. departure Ontario Northland bus from Timmins to Cochrane, especially those in the first seven rows

• Sept. 18 - Ontario Northland train from Cochrane to Moosonee with the schedule 9 a.m. departure, especially for those seated in coach two, rows five to 12

Travellers are asked to self monitor for symptoms. If they occur, isolate immediatelyand call the Porcupine Health Unit at 1-800-461-1818 ext. 2919.

The recommendations apply for 14 days, ending Sept. 20 or Oct. 2. 

COVID-19 symptoms can include fever, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat/hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing, loss of sense of smell or tast, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, runny nose, or nasal congestion.

In the health unit region, there have been 81 confirmed cases of the virus. Of those, 65 are recovered and nine people have died. There are seven known active cases of the virus.
