Public Health Ontario has confirmed 119 new, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 today.

Nearly 74 per cent of the cases announced today came from three health units. Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported 40 new cases, Toronto Public Health reported 20, and Ottawa Public Health reported 28.

Ninety of today's cases are individuals between 20 and 59 years old.

The province also reported one more death today – an individual between the ages of 40 and 59.

Ontario has reported 38,799 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began. Of those, 34,461 (88.8 per cent) are now listed as recovered, and 2,764 have ended in death.

There are 1,574 active, lab-confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Ontario currently, with at least 82 hospitalizations. Today's epidemiological report notes 34 of Ontario's hospitals didn't report their COVID-19 patient counts over the weekend, so the number of hospitalizations will likely jump tomorrow once all hospitals report.

Since last report, Public Health Ontario confirmed there were 24,664 more coronavirus tests processed. The province's labs have processed results for more than two million tests to date.

The breakdown for the Northern Ontario health units is:

• Algoma Public Health - 27 cases, rate of 23.6 per 100,000 population. There are no known active cases.
