A Timmins business is helping people be safe and raising cash for the hospital foundation.
Steinberg and Mahn has donated $2,000 to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation for the campaign to buy a new mammography unit.
The money was raised through selling masks. For every one sold, the business donated $2 to the foundation.
"The pandemic has had a far-reaching impact in the textile industry whith forced many to repurpose their production facilities. One of our suppliers now manufactures reuseable face maks, they come in five different colours and are made of high-quality washable fabric," siad Darren Taylor of Steinberg and Mahn, in a news release.
So far, more than $70,000 has been raised for the fundraising campaign.
"This is another fine example of the fantastic drive and support northerners have for each other," said Barb McCormick, manager of donor relations.
