COVID-19: Here's the situation in Timmins today

One new COVID-19 case was reported in the Porcupine Health Unit region today.

The 82nd confirmed case of the virus is in Moose Factory, where there have now been four confirmed cases since Sept. 12.

Of the confirmed cases in the region, 67 people have recovered and nine people have died. There are six known active cases.

The health unit is aware of 22,586 tests being done locally, which is an increase of 269 since yesterday's report.

Ontario Public Health reported 409 new confirmed cases today. To-date, there have been 48,905 COVID-19 cases in the province, with 42,169 of those being recovered and 2,837 cases ending in death. In Northern Ontario, there are 17 known active cases.
