COVID-19: Here's the situation in Timmins today

There's been no new cases, one virus-related death

While there's been no new COVID-19 cases in two weeks, there has been a seventh virus-death reported in the region.

The Porcupine Health Unit announced the death, which is the third connected to an outbreak at Timmins and District Hospital earlier this month, yesterday afternoon.

To date, there have been 65 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area. Of those, 55 are resolved and seven people have died. The health unit is following three known active cases.

Public Health Ontario reported 404 new cases of COVID-19 today. There have also been 491 recoveries and 29 deaths in the province since the last report. Since the start of the pandemic, Public Health Ontario has reported 25,904 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19. There have been 19,968 recoveries reported (76 per cent), and 2,102 people have died (8.1 per cent).
