Time's running out to renew your 2019 residential fire permit in Timmins.

In May when the provincial fire ban was lifted, the Timmins Fire Deparment extended all 2019 permits to July 1. If you haven't renewed it already, a 2020 permit is required effective next week.

In a news release, the City of Timmins also reminds residents who haven't paid for their 2020 permit yet that payment is due on or before July 1.

Fire permits are $25 per year and can be bought for up to three years at a time.

Payments can be made by money order, bank draft or cheque mailed to the Timmins Fire Department at 133 Cedar St. S., Timmins, Ont., P4N 2G9. You should include your name, address, phone number and email address.

"If you do not own the property on which you wish to burn, you must obtain written permission from the property owner. This includes property which you are renting," reads the news release.
