Fishing the North: Testing for the right fit

If you're interested in purchasing a firearm, there is a way to test them to make the right choice

Have you ever wanted to try a certain firearm out before purchasing it to see if it performs and handles the way you want it to?

During a recent visit to Albert's Sports and Work Wear, sales manager Ken Perreault started telling me about their recent demo shoot they held.

Albert's decided a couple years ago to hold this demo shoot so their customers of all ages could come out to handle and test some of the newest firearms in the industry.

Perreault went on to say that Albert's hosted this demo shoot so people can try different calibers of rifles to find their comfort range of the many different recoils each caliber produces before dumping all their money into something they might not enjoy shooting.

Manufacture representatives on hand to answer any questions shooters may have about a firearm and ammunition choices they offered made for a very informative and fun day for everyone that attended.

This event is held at the Timmins Golden Nuggets Conservation Club.

Entry fee for the event was a monetary donation or non-perishable food items.

A small lunch of sausage on a bun or hot dogs was available along with raffle for a Savage MKII with REDFIELD optics.

Tickets for the draw were three for $5. Anyone purchasing tickets was then offered five shots to hit a target at 100 yards to double their tickets for the raffle.

All food donations and money raised during this event went to the Timmins Food Bank.

Albert's would like to thank Canada Bread, Timmins Golden Nuggets range officers, Benelli and all the other sponsors listed on their poster for the event.

I encourage anyone looking to purchase a firearm or just interested in taking part of this event next year to drop by Albert's Sports and Work Wear and speak with Ken.

Just a friendly reminder for anglers which are looking at fishing the Mattagami Fall Classic Walleye Tournament and haven't already registered to contact Crystel Vallée (705-363-7024) or Jessica Naveau (705-221-4248) or click here.
