The derby will be held during Family Day, Feb. 20, 2017 on Porcupine Lake from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The derby is free for kids up to 16 years old.

Since this a very popular event for kids and tend to fill up quickly, be sure to register your child/children in one of the 4 times slot available, 10-11 a.m., 11-12 a.m., 12-1 p.m., 1-2 p.m.

With being a kids derby, the Timmins Fur Council has Free hot dogs, pops, hot chocolate, for those little ones that may get hungry or thirsty while fishing as we all know how hard fishing is on them.

To register your child/children Please call or contact:

Registration requires child's name, age and a contact number or email and for what time slot.

If you haven't already had the opportunity to introduce your child to ice fishing or the sport of fishing, I highly recommend this derby as an introduction to the sport.

I look forward to seeing all the smiles on those young anglers faces again this year.
