TimminsToday, in partnership with the Timmins and District Humane Society and the Northern Ontario Animal Welfare Society, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Ally is a playful, affectionate, one-and-a-half-year-old female, German Shepherd mix.

Ally has a lot of German Shepherd tendencies such being very loyal, obedient and wanting to herd but she is half the size of an adult GSP; she’s roughly 40lbs and not going to get any bigger.

Ally is energetic like most young dogs and walks well on and off leash.

She is currently fostered with two Labrador Retrievers and exhibits good social skills and is learning how to engage in play nicely.

She is very smart, eager to please and likes to be right where the people are.

She is house broken, knows the basic commands, and rides well in a vehicle.

She would be an excellent all-season dog ready for whatever adventure awaits.

She recently had seven pups and still needs to be spayed.

The swelling in her teats and abdomen is diminishing more every day and she’s ready to move on from that stage in her life.

If you’d like to adopt Ally, please apply at or email for more info.
