Gain real-world experience working with a dynamic team of finance professionals while earning hours toward your Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation. Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) is seeking eager, engaged, committed candidates to apply to join our new CPA Training Office.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain the required experience to obtain your professional accounting designation in a challenging, innovative and unique environment. Program participants will work with many finance professionals with varied backgrounds, designations and education making this an ideal opportunity to receive mentorship and get support during the exam process.
The successful candidates will rotate over a thirty (30) month period between Financial Reporting (18 months) and Financial Planning & Analysis (12 months) within the Finance Department to gain the necessary practical employment experience required by the CPA program. OLG is a multibillion-dollar operation with a wide variety of employment opportunities providing successful program alumni the opportunity to apply into different roles and divisions within OLG. You will have support in obtaining your CPA designation including financial support for your studies. The successful applicant will be granted the time to attend necessary professional development, programs and exams as required.

What you will Learn:
Progressively learn and become efficient in performing the daily operational activities of the External Reporting team by providing technical accounting guidance and financial reporting to management and required reporting to external parties. Assist in the preparation of complete, accurate and timely reporting of financial information, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and the preparation of year-end working papers. Ensure data recorded in the financial accounting system is consistent with principles of sound financial management and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Financial Planning & Analysis
Progressively learn and become efficient in providing financial leadership in preparing the OLG business plan, the annual corporate budget and in-year forecasts. Responsible for providing financial and operational analysis to improve decision-making for both internal and external stakeholders.
