The Prime Minister's Office has confirmed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's plans to visit Greater Sudbury on Wednesday.

“We can confirm that the PM will indeed be in Sudbury tomorrow, and the main event that he'll be having is to meet with local construction workers at the Maley Drive construction site,” said press secretary Eleanore Catenaro.

“He'll be alongside local MPs Paul Lefebvre and Marc Serré.”

The event on Maley Drive is slated to happen at around 2 p.m. Further details about Trudeau's visit will be included in his itinerary for Feb. 13, which should be released in the late afternoon today.

Sudbury.com also asked if the winter storm expected for Greater Sudbury might interfere with these plans, and Catenaro said “it's possible.”

“We'll keep you posted,” but for now it's still happening, she said.
