Ready to cast a ballot in the Ontario election?

Advance voting starts this week and there are three polling stations across the city. People can vote in advance from May 19-28 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In Timmins, there are five candidates on the ballot — incumbent NDP Gilles Bisson, New Blue David Farrell, Green Party of Ontario Elizabeth Lockhard, PC George Pirie and Ontario Provincial Confederation of Regions Party Nadia Sadiq.

The advance voting locations are:

  • Maurice Londry Community Centre, 66 Main St., South Porcupine 
  • Timmins Senior Citizen Recreation Centre, 272 Third Ave.
  • Travelodge, 1136 Riverside Dr.

You can also vote in person at the returning office, 38 Pine St. N. Unit 120, up until 6 p.m. on June 1. The office is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 29 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To vote, you'll need your voter information card that you should receive in the mail and a piece of ID showing your name. More details on what to bring are available here.
