Timmins mayoral candidates Michelle Boileau, Joe Campbell and Richard Lafleur.

The municipal election is days away and a new mayor will be elected on Monday.

If you haven't already cast a ballot, here's a look at who's running for the mayor's seat.

A new mayor will be elected on Oct. 24 because George Pirie vacated the position for provincial politics. While Kristin Murray was appointed to the seat, she's seeking re-election in Ward 5.

There are three people in the mayoral race: Michelle Boileau, Joe Campbell and Richard Lafleur.

Boileau is finishing up her first term on council sitting as a Ward 5 councillor. She's hoping to bring a future-focused leadership to the seat. Read more about her here. Her take on some of the issues is available here.

Campbell has served two terms as the Ward 3 councillor and had a 40-plus-year career in accounting. He says the city is a business and needs to be run like one. Read more about him here. His responses to some of the issues are available here.

Richard Lafleur is a local businessman and says it's time to reinvest in his hometown. This is his first time running for municipal office. Read more about him here.

The Timmins Chamber invited all candidates to talk about priorities in this election campaign.
