OPP lay impaired driving charges after two single-vehicle crashes near Iroquois Falls

IROQUOIS FALLS - On Oct. 7, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 north of Iroquois Falls.

The investigation revealed the driver had consumed drugs. As a result of the investigation, Randy Dube, age 28, of Iroquois Falls has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol or drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC and,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

The driver was served a 90 day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS).

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 5, 2020 in Timmins.

IROQUOIS FALLS - On Oct. 20, 2020 at 9:45 p.m., members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Municipal Road in Iroquois Falls. 

The investigation revealed the driver has consumed alcohol. As a result of the investigation, Johan Jordaan, age 30 of Iroquois Falls has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC and,
  • Public mischief contrary to section 140(1)(b) of the CC.

The driver was served a 90 day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS).

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Dec. 3, 2020 in Timmins.

The OPP is reminding drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving.
